Kangaskoti was born — a place where history meets homeliness.
The Story of Kangaskoti
Kangaskoti offers accommodation services in a historic and atmospheric setting — within the former Kangaskylä school building.
The school has been an important part of the village’s life — many local teachers taught there, and generations of pupils created memories that last a lifetime. Several families also lived in the school’s apartments.
In 2001, the school was closed, and the property became privately owned.
The old stone school — known for its solid construction and spacious layout (a total of about 1,300 m²) — has undergone extensive interior renovations over the years as its purpose has evolved.
The building served as a youth home for four years before being acquired by its current owners in 2010.
In the first years under new ownership, the building was used for care-sector activities.
In 2024, the premises were further renovated for accommodation use.
That is how Kangaskoti came to be — a warm and distinctive accommodation destination where history, space, and the calm of home come beautifully together. Two entrepreneurial families live permanently at Kangaskoti, taking care of both the property and the guests.
Throughout its long history, the building has been home to teachers, families, and students. Today, it lives a new life as an accommodation venue, offering guests the chance to rest in a unique and versatile environment where the past and present harmoniously meet.
Welcome to Kangaskoti — a place with history, room to breathe, and a homely atmosphere that makes every guest feel at ease.
Alongside travelers, many business guests from different countries have also enjoyed their stay here.
Our cozy environment is also ideal for remote workers.
And as you might guess, in a big house there’s always something happening — plenty of renovation projects and new ideas!
Right now, we’re renovating a former classroom into a meeting and event space. Soon, we’ll be able to offer an atmospheric setting for meetings, family celebrations, and small gatherings.
We can’t wait for it to be finished!
